 The screw conveyor in a mobile concrete batching plant is responsible for conveying various materials, such as powders and granules. Its smooth operation is crucial to the plant's material supply. The following maintenance points ensure the proper operation of the screw conveyor:

Daily Cleaning

Daily Cleaning

After each operation, immediately clean the screw conveyor of any remaining material to prevent it from clumping or deteriorating inside the equipment, which could affect subsequent conveying operations. Accumulated material near the inlet and outlet should be thoroughly removed to prevent blockage. Use compressed air or specialized cleaning tools to thoroughly sweep and wipe the interior of the conveyor to ensure a clean and debris-free environment. Also, remove dust and debris from the exterior of the equipment to maintain its pristine appearance.

Regularly inspect the screw blades for wear and tear, checking for deformation, cracks, or signs of severe wear. A comprehensive inspection is generally required every 50 to 100 hours of operation. If blade wear exceeds one-third of its original thickness, or if deformation or cracks that affect proper conveying occur, replace the blades promptly to ensure efficient conveying and uniform material distribution. When replacing blades, ensure that the new blades are correctly installed and securely connected to the screw shaft.

Bearing Maintenance

Screw conveyor bearings require regular lubrication to reduce friction and wear, thereby extending their service life. Select the appropriate grease according to the equipment manual and refill or replace it regularly. Bearings generally require lubrication every 200 to 300 hours of operation. When adding grease, ensure that the bearing housing is approximately two-thirds full. Also, closely monitor bearing temperature and operating conditions. Excessive bearing temperature or unusual noise may indicate bearing damage or poor lubrication. Immediately stop the machine for inspection and, if necessary, replace the bearing.

Drive Unit Inspection

Regularly inspect the drive unit, including key components such as the motor and reducer. Check that the motor's operating current and voltage are normal, that the motor and reducer temperatures are within acceptable ranges, and for any unusual vibration or noise. Regularly check the reducer's oil level and quality, and replace the lubricant at the prescribed intervals, typically every 500 to 1000 hours of operation. At the same time, check the tension of the belt or chain. If any looseness is detected, adjust it promptly to ensure efficient and stable operation of the drive unit.

Seal Performance Inspection

Inspect the screw conveyor's seals to ensure they are performing properly to prevent material leakage and dust intrusion. Specifically, check the seals at the inlet, outlet, and various joints for integrity. Any signs of damage or deterioration should be replaced immediately. For areas sealed with packing, regularly check the packing for wear and replenish or replace it promptly to ensure a long-lasting and reliable seal.

Check the tightness of the connecting bolts between the screw conveyor components, such as the screw shaft, drive unit, and casing. Regularly tighten these bolts to prevent loose bolts from causing vibration and noise during operation, which could compromise the equipment's stability and safety.

Electrical System Inspection

Inspect the screw conveyor's electrical system, including checking for damaged or deteriorated wires and cables, loose terminals, and the sensitivity and reliability of electrical protection devices. Ensure that electrical equipment is properly grounded to prevent electrical leakage.
